Love Is: day 3

Love is painted with our words.

Love is pictured, painted, represented and conveyed with words. The Word was penned in love to cleanse us not condemn us.

The words we speak tell our story – to ourselves and the world.  Have you ever met someone and within a few minutes have a clear picture of who they are simply based on the words they say?

Words reveal the heart. “ . . .for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” Luke 6:45. It’s contents spill forth in words. “Life and death are in the tongue.”

Words can worship or worry, they can compliment or criticize, build up or tear down.

Words of “I can’t,” “I tried and failed” or “I don’t know how” become self-fulfilling prophecies.  Any woman who’s ever dieted will admit these words have flitted through her mind on more than one occasion.

Words become our story.   We will always create evidence for the words we speak to ourselves. “I’m so overwhelmed” or I’m exhausted” will result in a lethargic body, an unfocused, foggy mind and ongoing procrastination every time.

The words we speak about others is a reflection of how we see ourselves. Our words can heal, encourage and inspire. They have the power to turn a confrontational heated moment into a healing one.

So, today let’s choose life simply by wisely choosing our words.
