Love Is: day 4

Love is a promise.

Tucked away in a small Old Testament book is one of the most powerful promises God gives to his children. In this one scripture He promises His presence, protection, praise and peace.

“The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zeph 3:17

God is present. He’s in our everyday and is saving us from the enemy’s attempts to derail our faith. The impenetrable shield of His love surrounds us and protects us from the cruelty that life can sometimes bring.

He rejoices over us with gladness, straightening our crowns when we stumble and cheering us on not because we are perfect but simply because we are His.

He quiets us with His love. His soothing voice calms and reassures us that we’re safe and all will be okay. He turns our panic into peace.

He delights in us singing His song of restoration and redemption, waiving His banner of love over us.

One verse, four powerful promises in His hand waiting for us to receive.

Today we acknowledge His presence, are grateful for His protection, graciously accept His joyous praise and delight in us and walk in the peace only He can provide.
