The Path to Energy

Welcome to this month’s path series where we will be exploring the path to energy.

A woman’s daily energy levels determine her day, her mood and attitude.

Energy is either positive or negative. This month we will focus on reducing the negative to create more space for the positive.

This is how you upgrade your energy.

Isaiah wrote “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary . . gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Is 40: 28-29

God empowers and sustains us when we feel we have “no might” to go on.

A woman’s energy is impacted by her choices. Each choice we make holds a positive or negative “charge” and will either energize or deplete us.

We tend to forget that we get to choose our thoughts, the foods we eat, how our surroundings look, the relationships we participate in and how we spend our time and money.

You and I get to choose our battles, what we post, read, listen to, how we respond and react, our patience levels, whether or not to forgive, show mercy, extend grace or love.

We will always either be happening to life in a constant state of reactionary living or life will happen to us on our terms and our control.

Our choices dictate the energy level we operate in daily.

We all have energy drainers and energy givers, though they may differ individually.

My energy drainers include choosing to mindlessly screen scroll, a sabotaging mindset, having expectations and living in clutter.  Learning to manage and reduce these drainers means more energy, clarity, focus and peace. It’s a process and at times challenging but it’s worth it if it means more energy and joy.

Your energy drainers may be working in a toxic environment or at a job you dislike, spending time around complainers or a difficult family member/friend, feeling anxious in your finances, living with unresolved emotions like resentment or anger or consumed with the opinions of others.

You can’t eliminate something if you don’t know what it is. So identifying those drainers is the first step.

Bgin by asking quality questions:  When do you feel the most alive?  What excites you?  Who leaves you feeling sad, angry, cynical or depleted after spending time with them?   Does the current state of your surroundings energize or drain you?

How about the clothes you wear, your morning routine, work space and food choices? Is how you spend your downtime rejuvenating and recharging your energy levels?

Evolving starts with elimination.

On this first day of June, press pause and take a few minutes to honestly look at who or what’s draining your energy, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually?

If you want to upgrade your energy you must first know what’s depleting your energy.

Within the School of Chic is a premier course I teach my students called A Second Wind where we discuss in great detail the topic of energy because it is what fuels us and influences our everyday.  Without it, every day is a struggle.  Having energy isn’t optional but necessary.  It’s that important.

So this month we are walking the Path to Energy!  Let’s begin!
