In this our last post of our guest series, we welcome Nicole McNamee of Connective Conversations as she reminds us that each of us are chosen by God for God. Enjoy!
Are you aware that God chose you?
Yes, He chose you to be in His family, imperfections, and all. From billions of people in the world, He chose you for a special purpose.
In John 15:16 NIV it states that “ I (GOD) chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit…fruit that will last and so that whatever you ask in my name the father will give you.”
We were made for God, not vice versa, and life is about letting God use us for his special purposes, not us using Him for our purpose.
We’ve been taught to think about our purpose from a self-centered place by asking questions like:
- Who do I want to be?
- What should I do with my life?
- What are my goals, my ambitions, my dreams for my future?
But focusing on ourselves will NEVER reveal our life’s purpose. We must begin with God, your creator.
Only in God will we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, significance, and destiny. Each of us were chosen by God.
Discover what God has revealed about your life in His word which is the owner’s manual.
The easiest way to discover the purpose of an invention is to ask the creator of it. The same is true for discovering your life’s purpose: Ask God.
Simply begin by spending time with God by reading His word.
Remember, no one can do the job He’s assigned to you and He’s picked you for a very specific purpose. You are meant to be used by Him according to His perfect plan.
Yes, God chose you to walk a very specific path and purpose.
What an honor to be chosen by God!
