I am a lot of things but a Bible scholar isn’t one of them. But it is the one book I trust to tell me the truth and see me through hard times.
I will never fully understand its mysteries, comprehend its miracles or grasp its full message. I’ve learned to simply receive it and believe it but never overthink it.
There are several “go to verses” I lean on when I feel like it’s me against the world and I’m losing big.
One is in Deuteronomy and says in part “ . . .for the Lord your God is the One who goes with You. He will never leave you or forsake you.” 31:6
And “never” means never.
On days when you feel alone, fearful or forgotten here’s proof you aren’t because “never” means never.
David knew this too. He even pondered “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?” Ps 139:7 He realized the answer is nowhere.
No matter where you go or what you go through you are never alone. God’s there walking beside you and doing life with you.
You may not always feel His presence especially when you’re gripped by fear or overcome with guilt but He’s there.
In your happy times He celebrates with you. In your sad times He comforts you.
I’ve given God plenty of excellent reasons to walk away and He’s never moved.
I sprinted away and avoided Him for years while He patiently stayed in His position and waited for me to return. And when I did it was without condemnation or judgment. That’s love in its purest form.
Please know He’ll never abandon you in your darkest moments because “never” means never.
Nothing you could ever do or go through can sever or separate you from His love. Nothing. Rom 8:31-39 He is simply a prayer away.
It’s just a thought.
